St. Bernard is located only 15 min. walk or 5 min. by tricikad (bicycle with sidecar) from the pier.
Our place consists of two rows of very unique and beautiful round cottages with niparoofing, nicely located and surrounded with lots different plants in the shade of palm trees.
From the moment you enter our gate, your eyes will see a lot of flowers you know from the European living rooms, here in the Philippines they just grow outside the whole year around. You will see beautiful man high Hawaii flowers (hibiscus), which will guide the paths between the cottages to the beach and our cozy small restaurant.
Our Restaurant serves food which will satisfy almost everyone, European, American or Philippino. If you are a connoisseur of seafood’s, you are comming to the right place, Shell, schrimps, Sizzling Lapu-Lapu or Squid, if there is fresh stock at the marked, then we got it to ! If you prefer meat, then we serve all from Chicken Adobe with plenty of vegetables, Beef or pork meat in different variations, should you for dessert feel for eating a Mango pancake flambé with caramel/orange sauce, then it is one of our specialties.
St. Bernard is not a big place, we only have 8 cottages for renting out, All are made of stone in a very unique round design and got beautiful nippa roofing.
The smallest cottages is with a build-in 3/4 size bed which follows the round walls of the cottage. The bigger cottages are with big double bed. Common for all cottages is nice clean toilet and shower, electric fan and AM/FM Radio. The small cottages have build in divider-/hanger space for your clothes; there is small table and 2 small chairs. The big cottages got cabinets and a big round table and 2 nice armchairs, all nice made of "bambusplitt" . All cottages are prepared for two persons, though extra bed can easily be set up.
At our beachfront you have a nice view to the two small islands "Hilantagaan 1" and "Virgin Island". Take a look down the beach and you will see a lot of the small Bancas laying on the beach. You can follow them , from our terasse, when every day they are leaving for fishing and again later see when they return with day’s catch.
The beachfront terrace is split up in two areas, a big area with only white sand, partly covered in the shade of the palm trees. There are sun bed, tables and chairs for you to use. For those who do not like or have a difficult to get around in sand is the left side made in concrete, from here you can use entrance to the beach via a 1 meter wide ramp. At the whole beach front area aare sun bed and tables set up for you to use whenever you wish.
